French-American family moves their houseboat for the opening ceremony on the Seine
The Leclercq family, a French-American family living on a houseboat on the Seine river in Paris, is gearing up for a unique experience as they are asked to move their houseboat further downstream for the opening ceremony this weekend. Despite the inconvenience of moving, they are excited about the perks that come with it, including five tickets to the ceremony.
Holly Hasegawa Leclercq, the matriarch of the family, expressed her excitement about the ceremony, describing it as “one of a kind.” As she gave a tour of their spacious boat, she shared how their kitchen is set up so she can cook while looking out onto the water. Although they are moving higher up on the river, Leclercq hinted that they might try to sneak closer to the action.
Meanwhile, Jean Francois Martins, President of the Eiffel Tower, is also looking forward to the opening ceremony. He will have the best seat in the house at the second floor of the iconic landmark, overlooking the Seine and the Trocadero where the ceremony will climax. Martins, who was part of the original bid for Paris 2024, is excited to see his dream come true and share the experience with the world.
