Huawei to Debut HarmonyOS Cangjie Programming Language at HDC 2024 Event
Are you ready for some exciting news from Huawei? The tech giant has been working on its self-developed programming language for quite some time, and it looks like it’s finally ready to make its debut at the HDC 2024 event. The company is set to officially unveil the HarmonyOS Cangjie language today, June 21.
According to a report from Weibo news account @SinaTechnology, Huawei will be releasing its self-developed programming language “Cangjie” at the HDC 2024 event. This marks a significant milestone for the company as it completes the last link of the HarmonyOS ecosystem and prepares to showcase it on stage.
This will be the first time Huawei brings its programming language to consumers, and it’s a development that has been highly anticipated since the HarmonyOS NEXT developer preview event in January. The company hinted at this new change back then, and now it seems like things are finally becoming official.
The ‘Cangjie’ programming language has been in the works for a while now, with Huawei applying for the trademark in 2020. The company has been working hard to create an efficient language for its software and application developers, and ‘Cangjie’ is the result of those efforts.
In 2022, Huawei started the trial registration of its programming language, with plans to unveil it in the second half of the year. However, news on this matter went quiet until now, with the ‘Cangjie’ language set to be used in HarmonyOS NEXT for the first time.
Alongside the debut of the Cangjie programming language, Huawei will also be unveiling the Pangu 5.0 model and the Celia ‘Super Assistant’ at the HDC 2024 event. The company will also be sharing details on HarmonyOS NEXT beta and other highly efficient products, as well as introducing some useful Cloud strategies and AI-based plans for industrial development in the following days.
HarmonyOS NEXT represents a significant shift for Huawei, as it moves towards a true and independent operating system by using self-developed elements. The company has shared a list of components used for the new software system, including the Pangu AI model, MindSpore AI Framework, HarmonyOS design, Harmony kernel, and more.
Today’s event promises to be full of exciting announcements and details about Huawei’s new software and products. Stay tuned for more updates as the event unfolds!
