CodeBase Relaunches CodeClan with Scottish Colleges and Silicon Valley Coding Programme

Are you looking to upskill in software development and data science? Well, you’re in luck! CodeBase is relaunching CodeClan, the digital skills academy, in partnership with three Scottish colleges and a Silicon Valley teaching program for coding.

After the sudden news of the original CodeClan going into liquidation, CodeBase stepped in to acquire select assets and help affected students complete their courses. Now, they are responding to industry demand for software development and data science expertise by relaunching CodeClan with a new delivery model.

The pilot program with Edinburgh College, Borders College, and West Lothian College will kick off this summer, with content provided by Silicon Valley education platform Qwasar. This partnership aims to address the digital skills gap and accelerate economic impact in Scotland.

Mark Logan, chief entrepreneurial adviser to the Scottish government, emphasized the importance of establishing a pathway for career changers to enter the tech sector. With a scalable delivery model and a focus on in-person and online training, the new CodeClan aims to make learning more accessible and affordable for both individuals and employers.

Martin Boyle, VP of transformation and strategic relationships at CodeBase, highlighted the collaboration with Qwasar and the Scottish college network as a key strength of the relaunched CodeClan. While the pilot program is currently regionally-focused, there are plans for a Scotland-wide rollout in the near future.

Qwasar Silicon Valley, known for training to Silicon Valley standards in software engineering, is excited to partner with CodeBase on this initiative. Their competency-based programs aim to build technical skills step by step, making it accessible for anyone willing to put in the effort.

If you’re interested in future CodeClan programs, you can register your interest on their website. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting relaunch and the potential for a Scotland-wide coding academy in the coming years. The time for upskilling in tech is now!
