Call for Submissions: Culture Days Celebration in Barrie, Sept. 20 – Oct. 13
Are you an artist or part of an arts and culture organization in Barrie? If so, the City of Barrie has an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your talents and creativity during this year’s Culture Days celebration!
Culture Days is a national event that celebrates arts and culture, and this year it will be taking place from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13. The City of Barrie is looking for individuals, organizations, and businesses to submit proposals for activities or events that will help bring the community together to celebrate the arts.
Whether you’re a visual artist, dancer, musician, storyteller, or work in any other creative discipline, there is a place for you to participate in Culture Days. The format of your event can be in person or self-guided, and the possibilities are endless. This is your chance to share your passion with the community and inspire others to get involved in the arts.
If you’re looking for inspiration, consider tying your event to the city’s Seeds to Sow exhibition, which will feature public art installations that respond to Barrie’s local ecologies, history, and stories. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something special and leave your mark on the city’s landscape.
In addition, Culture Days will be dedicating space on Sept. 30 to events that commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a chance to share and celebrate the creative and cultural expressions of Indigenous people and communities, and to learn from their experiences and perspectives.
Submissions for Culture Days events will be accepted until July 22 at 11:59 p.m., so be sure to get your proposal in on time. For more information on how to apply and to learn more about Culture Days, visit the City of Barrie’s website at barrie.ca/CultureDays.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of a vibrant celebration of arts and culture in Barrie. Let your creativity shine and help make this year’s Culture Days the best one yet!
