CERT-In Warns of Multiple Vulnerabilities in ‘Golang Go’ Programming Language Affecting IBM Storage Copy Data Management Software

Are you a programmer or someone interested in cybersecurity? If so, you might want to pay attention to the latest advisory from CERT-In regarding vulnerabilities in the ‘Golang Go’ programming language affecting IBM Storage Copy Data Management software.

According to the advisory, there are multiple vulnerabilities, including an ‘arbitrary code execution vulnerability’ and a ‘denial of service vulnerability.’ These vulnerabilities could potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service condition on the targeted system.

The arbitrary code execution vulnerability is particularly concerning as it could allow an attacker to execute malicious code on the system. This vulnerability exists due to a flaw in Golang Go during the build on Darwin. On the other hand, the denial of service vulnerability is caused by a flaw in Golang Go, leading to high CPU usage in the ‘extractExtendedRCode’ function in the net module.

To mitigate these risks, CERT-In has recommended that users apply appropriate fixes or patches as recommended by the company. It’s crucial to stay updated on such vulnerabilities and take necessary precautions to protect your systems and data.
