Winners and Participants Shine at the Robotic Programming Challenge 2024 (VersaPi) in Mukah

The Robotic Programming Challenge 2024 (VersaPi) was a thrilling event that showcased the talent and creativity of young students in the Mukah division. With 20 primary schools participating, the competition was fierce as students aged nine to 12 years old put their programming and problem-solving skills to the test.

SJKC Chung Hua Balingian emerged as the winner of the challenge, impressing the judges with their innovation and technical prowess. SK Sungai Duan and SK Mukah took second and third place respectively, showing off their coding abilities and teamwork.

The challenges in the competition ranged from showcasing innovation videos to physical tasks like ‘Bottle Knockdown’ and ‘360 Movement’. The students not only had to demonstrate their ability to assemble the VersaPi Robot Kit but also had to navigate through coding challenges with precision and skill.

The winners were rewarded with cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates, recognizing their hard work and dedication to the competition. The event was not just about winning, but about fostering an interest in STEM fields and promoting critical thinking and collaboration among students.

Mukah PPD representative Mohammad Shazwan Seun emphasized the importance of initiatives like VersaPi in nurturing students’ interest in science and technology. Sarawak Energy’s Senior Vice President for Corporate Services, Siti Aisah Adenan, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting educational programs that inspire and equip youth with essential future skills.

The Robotic Programming Challenge 2024 provided a dynamic platform for hands-on learning and practical application of theoretical knowledge. The collaboration between Sarawak Energy and Mukah PPD highlighted the significance of industry-education partnerships in enhancing educational outcomes and preparing students for the modern workforce.
